Take the Plunge at Farrell’s!

I just had my daughter, eight months prior, in April. I had little to no energy . . . I ate whatever I wanted . . . and I just couldn’t seem to find the motivation I needed to workout. I used my daughter, sleep exhaustion, my husband’s work schedule, and every other thing as an excuse. Until I saw a Facebook ad for Farrell’s.

It is truly the best decision I ever made; to take the plunge to sign-up for Farrell’s 10-week program! I can remember the day like it was yesterday. I had told myself, “I’ve tried group workouts,” “I’ve tried home workouts” ,“I’ve tried everything!” Nothing works. I’ll just stay like this forever. Someone will invent some magic switch and I’ll finally be “happy” with myself. The fact was I had NO idea that what I was about to sign-up for wasn’t just another fitness program. I didn’t need a magic switch; all I needed was Farrell’s Bettendorf! Farrell’s is a lifestyle change, and not a difficult one to make at that. I was already used to waking up at all hours of the night, with a now one-year-old, so how difficult was it to get to the location by 5 AM? Honestly, it wasn’t. I started watching what I ate, and just making small adjustments, even if that meant having accountability so I’d avoid the staff lounge, or the birthday treats at school.

He knew that I meant what I said this time, that I would follow through and be successful. That I was!! In just 10 weeks I logged just under 60 workouts, could do 30 more push-ups, 15 more sit-ups (and after a C-section that was impressive in my book!). I ran one minute faster on my mile, lost 16 total pounds, and 2.9% body fat that I refuse to ever put back on my body!* In those 10 weeks, I accomplished a lot, but the biggest accomplishment I achieved was that I never gave up! I didn’t let my mind beat me down, or my sore muscles from the kickboxing and strength training classes. I reached a Level 10 mindset!

I am continuing on my Farrell’s journey still and am eager to see how far I come a year from now. I truly believe that at this point in my life, I can and will achieve my goals. The biggest goal I have, is to show my daughter and husband that I can stick to something and that having a healthy lifestyle does not mean giving up “fun” days. It simply means controlling myself, and what I put into my body. I know my daughter is enjoying all this extra energy I have, as we go on walks after work almost daily!

For those considering or still on the fence...TAKE THE PLUNGE! I promise in the end you will get out what you put in and most likely more! I love how I feel, and love seeing the changes I make every day!
