Damian B. - Altoona, Iowa: Well where do I even begin……. I’ll start about twenty years ago, you shook the hand of a very angry young man. I never thought that I would ever learn anything from that tall guy with the flat top! (I was hoping for Mr. Miagi) My first day there you called me sir….I couldn’t believe it. I had never been treated with that much respect. I was a young punk that didn’t respect myself, let alone my parents! At the end of every class you would make us bow to our parents and thank them for being our parents. As I am now a parent, I understand the signifigance of the respect you taught me to show my parents. I can’t begin to imagine how much trouble I was back then. As I fast forward, I remember that after about two years of training under you. I went with the team to a tournament in Ames. I struggled in the forms department, as that falls into my struggles with discipline! I was however, a fairly decent stand out in sparring. I was sparring another gentlemen for 3rd place, and I happen to catch a shot in the groin. After a few cuss words and a punch to the face, you made me do push ups infront of god and everyone to show that I was ‘sorry’ for the disrespect. Kind of a funny little story, as now I have to be one of the easiest guys to get along with. My temper has finally succomed to my will power, and I no longer have to ‘blow up’ to feel better! As an athlete in high school, I never had a problem with my eating habits, and everyone always told me that some day my metabolism wouldn’t keep up. I never thought it would ever happen, but of course it has now! After gaining roughly 75 pounds in 10 years, I figured that I should do something. I had lost the respect for myself that you had worked so hard to instill in me. I heard a commercial about two years ago about the FXB, and thought to myself….I could never finish that! I didn’t want to get on some bird food diet and get back to exercise! I thought, I’ll start walking or something….surely anything but FXB! On a request from my wife, we joined the FXB to start on Jan 3rd in Altoona. To date, besides proposing to my wife, that was the best decision I have ever made! I learned that there were a lot of people just like me, they wanted to get into better shape, but were a bit embarrassed to get into the gym. From the second I stepped into Farrells, it was a feeling of home…as this was where I belong! Now my diet is a way of life, all the greens really are good to me, and good for me. My wife and I are happier and healthier than we’ve ever been. We feel great about ourselves, and also about our lifestyle! I thought that I would lose my ‘edge’ and passion once I realized that I didn’t win the original $1000.00 challenge. Little did I know that I won the second I walked through the door. I’m now honored to be competing against the ‘best in the biz’ for the $10,000.00 challenge! It would be a shame if I didn’t mention your staff as well. As I’m sure you know that the people you hire are and always will be a direct representative of you! You have greatly succeded in Javier (GM-Altoona). I’m not sure how the franchise stuff works, but that man has been an inspiration to so many, and my success is a direct result of his drive, and passion to be a part of Farrell’s. I can’t wait for my opportunity to be a part of the training staff, and inspire some people myself! I have plans to become a Cardio Instructor as soon as summer is over. I will be honored to be a ‘Farrell’.

I can’t thank you enough!......Sir!
