Alan S. - The Farrell’s FXB program has made many changes in my life. Thank you for creating it to help people like me. As people ask what I have been doing to cause so much change and I explain the Farrell’s program to them, many people say that the program is too extreme for them to do. I have found that eleven of my friends that signed up for it loved the changes it made for them as well. The first change in my life is the way I look. I have never seen my abs as individual muscles and this program has been huge for me. I almost feel like I am working towards body building and I know the bands are for that purpose but I still can’t believe the results when I look in the mirror. What a change in life and not until age 44. I knew I would improve my muscle appearance but I never thought I would look like the pictures show. I have had an incredible year.
The second change is the commitment level to an exercise program. I have never chosen to skip a day since I started as I would miss it too much. The discipline taught in this makes me hunger for the workouts and when I travel I take sets of bands with me and lead myself or both my wife and I through the programs. The other part of this is the ease of travel with it. If you are committed and follow the FXB training book you can keep yourself on track. By using the alternate training section you can keep your progress moving forward.
The third and perhaps the largest change is my eating habits. I am a large eater and always operated under the assumption I could keep up with the food I eat with a little extra running or biking. I eat very well on this program but it is the correct foods. I have had to eat in restaurants frequently during the program and I used to order foods based on size of the portion rather than health and value to my body. I have perfected the process of eating out and staying on the program. We have made recipes at home that help us to control our eating or eat the right type of food. The education we received in the program is so ingrained that it is normal to eat this way now. I did not understand the carbohydrate and importance of adding proteins to meals prior to starting. I plan the food to take with me automatically now and it does not require a lot of thought to put together my mid time snacks. It is natural for me now which makes it a true change in my life. Throughout the year my body fat decreased. The new eating habits make it easier to lose and control my body weight and fat. I am very pleased with the level of body fat I still have.
I became an instructor in January and enjoy it very much. I have gotten to go through the corporate instructor training as well as locally offered training. The application of the process and program make it easy to instruct and personalize to your personality. I thrive on working with others in the FXB program. It allows me to share the enthusiasm for the program I have with others. The thing that makes the program so great is the camaraderie in the gyms. It is phenomenal and keeps you motivated to work hard and do your best in every class. The changes I have made are life changes that will break me out of the family tree of obesity and heart disease. Health issues of both of our families are why we signed up. The success in the program is why we are staying. |
